I kind of dislike baby and bridal showers. I mean I like celebrating happy life moments with family and friends and wishing my loved ones the best and showering them with gifts. But the games and the opening of dozens of presents can be a little torturous. My coworker told me about this awesome idea: request guests wrap gifts in clear plastic. This way you can still hand them to the guest of honor, ooh and ahh over them but takes far less time. Genius!
Saw this ad on my FB news feed and was totally grossed out. Ultrasound technology is cool and all but doesn’t anyone else find it creepy?
He/she looks EXACTLY like every other newborn baby with his/her squished alien face in that generic hospital pastel blue and pink striped cap…. lol
Ok that is harsh and I really don’t totally mean it. Not totally anyway. My FB news feed over the halloween weekend threw up kids and babies in costume all over me. I sarcastically posted my dog in bat wings as my profile pic as a rebuttle. I guess this is the age range in my life where all friends and acquaintances have going on is their family. I can’t really blame them because I will continue to post pics of my vacations, my boat, and other things I prefer to spend my money and time on :)

I’m seriously scared of them. What the hell is half the stuff on there anyway? If you want to scare people into not having kids, have them look at a baby registry.
Why would I want to buy you nipples, a diaper disposal system, breast pump, or a nasal aspirator? How NOT fun is that? Can’t we keep the registry list to things like teddy bears and cute outfits??
From my Aug 2 post
We recently got a Boston Terrier. I’ve never had dogs growing up but my husband had. I had no idea a puppy would be so much work! It has completely solidified the decision to not have kids. I just don’t think I can handle the constant responsibility, lack of sleep, need for attention, all of it… If a puppy takes this much time and energy, I can’t even remotely begin to imagine what kids would be like. Not for me.
Check out this Google commercial that makes having a baby seem really depressing — thanks to all the obvious and hidden costs.
